“Don’t Peek”, the six-minute horror short that had been nominated for the SXSW Film Festival, will be adapted into a full-length feature film! Now when you think about horror, Animal Crossing is probably one of the last things to come to your mind but filmmaker Julian Terry still managed to use “Animal Crossing; New Horizons” to catch the attention of millions of people on the internet.

One of those people being director, producer, and screenwriter Timur Bekmambetov who is best known for his action movie “Wanted” and who also wants to turn “Don’t Peek” into a complete feature film. Though for the time almost all information about this film is left unknown like the actors and the release date.

“Don’t Peek” is about an unnamed girl, played by Katie Cetta, who starts by just innocently playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch until things start taking a weird turn. Events that happen inside the game begin to happen in real life like; a drawer opening or a lamp turning on for example. It’s a little harmless at first but things go from a weird turn to a turn for the worse as the girl discovers a demonic character in the game trying to enter the real world.
