Pokémon Legends : Arceus Announced For Early 2022
March 5, 2021
A new Pokémon game for the Sinnoh region has been announced during a livestream on the 25th anniversary of Pokémon! In early 2022, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be available on the Nintendo Switch!
Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Sinnoh region, a long time before when Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl take place, before the idea of a Pokémon trainer even existed, being set in a time inspired by feudal Japan. Unlike in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl you starter pokémon won’t be Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup but rather different starter pokémon from other regions. Instead, your starter Pokémon in this game, you have the option of Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott.
The gameplay in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will also be different from other Pokémon games. In the game your job will be to create the first Pokédex of the Sinnoh region in an open-world setting like the Wild Area in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Even catching pokémon is different in this game as unlike the traditional way, battling a pokémon to weaken and catch it, in Pokémon Legends: Arceus you catch pokémon by sneaking close and throwing a pokéball at them. That doesn’t mean pokémon battles aren’t a thing in this game though as you can through the pokéball that contains your alley pokémon at a wild pokémon to start a battle.
It’s also important to add that during the Pokémon anniversary livestream remakes for Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl have been announced. So in late 2021 Pokémon fans can also enjoy Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl!
