Genshin Impact; Game Review

David Sanchez

Genshin Impact is a fairly newer game that came out september 28 2020 for PS4, Android IOS, and PC with plans to release on the Switch and PS5. It is an open world game that has a main story and some side quests. The game’s story isn’t fully done so far. We only have around 30% of the full map unlocked. More of the game should be added later down the road but right now we are getting an expansion to the map December 23rd. If you like games that take time to get stronger in and do need a daily hour or two for the full experience then this is the game for you. The main part of the game is trying to get as strong as possible so when Co-op events come out then you will have an easier time, and in my opinion, much more fun time breezing through with friends. Even if you are the strongest you can be there is still a big challenge in the Spiral Abyss. The spiral abyss is where you take two of your teams of four into challenges that can reward you primogems the currency that you need for summons. Summons is how you get characters and weapons for your party.

There are some things that will stop people from getting into this game. The main thing that will stop people is the Summons. Each summons cost 160 primogems with every ten summons guaranteeing a 4 star weapon or character. Every 90 summons is a guaranteed 5 star weapon or character the best of the best in the game. Most people will hate having to wait for the gems and it’s a very low chance for a five star. The game is pretty generous with giving gems letting you earn 60 gems a day with a daily quest and giving lots of gems during events and the main story quest. Even with all that if you are very unlucky it takes around 1 month to 3 weeks to get a 5 star if there are events and free gems being given out. I myself, am very unlucky and only have 3 to 5 stars. My brother got lucky and has 5. Most people really hate, or will hate that. Luck does play a role in how strong you are but I see it as kinda fair because it does give many gems, most five stars are very strong and can carry you. The game is balanced with the 4 stars being also very strong as well. You won’t need any 5 stars; it all depends on your strategy with the characters you have and how well you can manage things.
