Rise Of The Shield Hero is an anime in the Isekai Anime genre. The anime is based on a web novel series with the same title by Aneko Yusagi, and was later expanded upon and made into an anime by Kinema Citrus: DR Movie Studios. It ran for a single season comprising 25 episodes, with the first episode released on January 9, 2019, and the last episode airing on June 26, 2019.

    The anime is centered around Naofumi Iwatani, a 20 year-old University student, who was transferred to another world similar to the fantasy game that he plays often. In this new world, he was summoned along with 3 other people from his world to be ¨heroes¨ of this new world. They are each equipped with specific weapons, and are called by the name of the weapons they have. They are named; Shield Hero, The Bow Hero, The Spear Hero, and the Sword Hero. The anime has been officially confirmed to have a second season released sometime in 2021, but doesn´t have an official date yet.
