Movie Review – Killing of a Sacred Deer
October 29, 2020
The Killing of A Sacred Deer was directed in 2017 and when released, the film won the award of ‘Best ScreenPlay’ and was nominated for many other awards as well. The acting was amazing, I can’t think of any other cast that could really suit this role of such an ecstatic family.
The movie is about a surgeon named Steven Murphy who is a world renowned heart surgeon who has been living a steady life. However, that all changes when a charming yet suspicious young boy named Martin decides to confront Steven with a problem they had in the past which later turns more terrifying than he could ever imagine.
The cinematography of the film was outstanding and was able to capture the vivid story. The director landscapes every scene to feel unsettling and suspenseful even though there isn’t anything happening that would make you think that something bad was going to happen. I really like how that was done because in many thrillers and horror movies, the directors depend on pop-ups to catch the viewers off guard or build suspense through the soundtrack.
I enjoyed this film very much, I liked the cinematic choices, the unsettling nerve, and the plot along with the development of the plot twist makes the movie even more unnerving to watch. Overall, the film was an amazing cinematic piece that creates suspense using its visuals, directing, and screenplay.
