Mulan Live Action Remake, Disappointment?

David Sanchez

Mulan the new movie from disney did not do as well  as they were hoping. The movie had a huge budget of two hundred million dollars, a pretty big budget. Surprisingly or not if you also thought it was crazy to play to watch it with a subscription already in place it only made a sad 37.6 million us dollars.

A Lot of the people who did pay to watch said they were disappointed only leading to more people not wanting to pay just to see a bad movie remake. I personally didn’t want to watch it because it didn’t have mushu the dragon, my favorite part of the animated mulan.

Mulan isn’t just doing bad in the United States in China; it took a plunge of 82% on its second friday. It only earned 1.87 million dollars, in total it made thirty-five million there. Some people are actually very mad at the film.

Chinese scholars are leading a boycott on the film because its ties with the communist party in china even going as far as calling it pure propaganda for the china’s communist party. With all these factors with the missing mushu the dragon having to pay even if you have a subscription already and bad reviews even some boycotts.

I believe Mulan was doomed from the start, even some of the actors were missing mushu the dragon.
