The Old Guard is a two hour action, fantasy movie that was released straight to Netflix on July 10, 2020. The movie is based on its comic series  of the same name written by Greg Rucka, and  was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.  It stars Charlize Theron,  KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Marwan Kenzari, Van Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Its premise is around a team of immortal mercenaries all over a century old who have the ability to heal from any injuries or bodily harm, it follows them as they decide to take on one last mission of what they believe is good after just recently reuniting, clueless of the true intents and the nature of the person who presents the mission to them. After finding out the mission was a hoax planned by a man who tries to prove their existence to the ceo of a leading Scientific and Technological company, who wants to capture them to find out what the cause of their immortality is as to use the knowledge to get ahead in his field and get even richer, they discover that there is a new one of them and they get her, and as she is introduced to the group it is through her that the audience starts to get the backstory of the tea of immortals. Not long after they bring in the new immortal their hideout get raided and  two of the immortals are captured, which we find out is one of their worst fears, as they explained to the newer member of their group earlier, and so The rest of them set out to go rescue their group members, and after that get revenge on their kidnappers.

This movie was most definitely to me one of my favorite movies of the year, i really enjoyed the action scenes and especially the very well executed acting of the actors, the script was well written and and very fulfilling. There were some minor dissatisfactions I had with the movie and its plot, some minor questions and details that I was looking forward to seeing but unfortunately was not there but overall I would say this movie did very well in satisfying my need for a good action thriller to watch during times like this. So i would say to definitely give this movie a watch and see how you like it yourself.
