The Notebook remains a classic romance after 15 years

Today’s movie review I will be doing an old, but classic love/romantic/sad movie that everyone knows of called The Notebook. This movie hit screens on June 25, 2004. The MPAA rating is PG-13. The actors who star in the movie are Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner, Gena Rowlands, and a few others.

The opening part for this movie shows the people who made this movie, and it starts off with a beautiful sunset background with some nice melodies in the background along with it. Allie Hamilton is talking to a maid who reads to her, but she can’t remember him because she’s old and forgets easily. Two young men are at a carnival and one of them sees this beautiful young girl named Allie Hamilton. Noah Jr., the guy who finds her attractive, asks her to dance, but she declines because she’s hanging out with a bunch of her friends.

Later on, one of her friends begin talking about him. Hamilton goes on the Ferris wheel with a guy. Jr. goes onto the Ferris wheel as well and interrupts their conversation. He asks her if she’d like to go on a date with him; she declines it once again.

Then, he goes on by holding himself to the Ferris wheel while it’s on the top and saying, “Will you go out with me?” She declines it again until he is holding himself by one arm on the ride. Fearing that he will get terribly injured, she finally agrees to go out with him.

The next day they bump into each other and he confronts her about the date that they both agreed to the other day. She explains that she doesn’t want to go on a date with him. Still reluctant to go out with her, he tries to change her mind. She doesn’t say yes or no to the date, but later that night he would find out. They end up seeing each other and went on a movie date together with some friends who came along with them. Later on in the movie, they both realize they have strong feelings towards one another.

Ever wonder how a classic book makes it to the screen? DirecTV has created a website with some interesting comparisons. Check them out here:
