Hundreds of people were arrested last weekend at Nocturnal Wonderland, a massive electronic music festival attended by more than 25,000 people at the San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s. Out of 67,000 attendees, 428 were arrested and five people were hospitalized for various reasons.

On Friday, the first night of the rave, 111 people were arrested during security screenings at the entrance. One sheriff’s deputy was injured during an arrest late Friday evening; he was hospitalized with minor injuries and later released. The sprawling festival- with performers on five main stages- was put on by Insomniac Events, a Live Nation subsidiary, which leases the amphitheatre from the county.

Similar music festivals have brought a rash of deaths of young concertgoers, often from drug overdoses. Reasons of arrests included drug and alcohol-related offenses, as well as trespassing, assault and battery, and indecent exposure, authorities said. Deputies working at the festival also had to respond to a fire of the 15 freeway north of the amphitheater. The 20 acre-brush fire was 100-percent contained early Monday morning.
