The Best of Warped Tour 2016

The sun isn’t the only thing that’s hot this summer– Van’s Warped Tour was back at the Pomona Fairplex August 7th and the people weren’t disappointed.

Over 2,500 attended Van’s Warped Tour in Pomona this year and it was a success at selling tickets, merchandise, fundraising, and distributing fun. Opening at 11:00am and closing around 9:00pm, there were many exciting things to experience such as free stuff, great sponsors, great food, and your favorite artists, it’d be hard for it to not be a success.  The fairplex floor was changed up this year as there was grass where as last year, there was dirt, a big step up for beating the heat.

Grass wasn’t the only thing to help beat the heat at Warped Tour. Free water was given, and in the middle of the fairplex there was a water slide with a guy spraying water at people that asked for it. Slurpee made an appearance giving out FREE slurpees- yes you heard right: “free slurpees.” Monster Energy drinks were given for free as well, pretty amazing right? These cool-offs weren’t the only things that were free. Maruchan, the seller of packaged ramen were giving truck-loads of ramen. Many different cd’s were given for free- one being You’re Goddamn Right by Countless Thousands. Many more sponsors attended.

How could Warped Tour get any better? The rest of the sponsors of course- Jeffree Star Cosmetics appeared as a sponsor and Jeffree Star himself made an appearance. Fans of his were amazed and were able to take pictures for a limited amount of time. Animal rights groups sponsored as well such as Action for Animals, FARM, and Peta2 promoting the lives of animals. Charitable organization sponsors appeared as well with some being Feed the Children, Hotels for Hope, Keep a Breast, LTD foundation, Music Saves Lives, Music Cares, and Peta2.

Finally, the music. There were a total of 8 stages for the artists to perform on: Journey’s Left Foot & Right Foot, Poseidon, Cyclops, Monster Energy North & South, Full Sail, and Little Ernie. Crowds were great as seen when Waka Flocka Flame, Reel Big Fish, Motionless in White, and Falling in Reverse performed. Mosh pits and crowd surfing isn’t anything new as many fans would do so when seeing their favorite artists. Waka Flocka Flame’s crowd had to have been the most insane as stuff was thrown into the air, people moshed, crowd surfed, and even the wall of death (the crowd split in the middle and then ran into the middle). If you enjoy free stuff, music, or fun in general, then Van’s Warped Tour should be a music festival you attend next year.
