On September 25th, basketball fans all over the world had stood up on their feet for the 2K franchise’s newest game, NBA 2K16. This year 2K has improved and enhanced the game incredibly from the previous 2K15 with better gameplay, a better MyCareer mode made by director, Spike Lee, and a (newly added) pre-game, halftime and postgame show hosted by Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. 2K has also provided NBA 2KTV, a feature where fans see exclusive interviews of NBA stars, coaches, legends and more and also players interact in an episode by answering questions and tweeting live. With all these new features, players have the option to do more than ever before.

  Spike Lee, who is the creator of the Spike Lee Joint, not only helped making the game but had a big involvement in the famous MyCareer mode. In this year’s mode, your created player will play the role of “Frequency Vibrations” (or Freq for short), a basketball superstar who lives in the streets of Harlem, trying to provide for his parents, Mr. Pete and Mrs. Martha, his twin sister Cee Cee, and his best friend Vic Van Lier. Throughout the story, the player has a choice of what high school to play for and then, which college to commit to. After playing high school and college, Freq starts his NBA journey, on his way to win an NBA championship. With this mixed drama and heartwarming story, players should enjoy playing in the new MyCareer.  

 Another mode in the game is that has improved from the previous games is MyGM, where your created player takes the role of a NBA general manager for whichever team the player chooses. The new improvements added in 2K16 includes team relocation, customizing the team logo and arena, and an all new NBA draft. The draft in MyGM is in your control as you participate in the draft lottery and select which player you want to draft. The player can have the option also to trade for higher draft picks so the chances of having the #1 pick will be higher.

 This year’s 2K will raise the bar for fans from all over the world. With all the new advancements, there is no doubt that fans will enjoy the game with friends and the whole family. Whether you play by yourself or with others, NBA fans will be truly satisfied to play an authentic and smooth game-play.
