A Good Day to Die Hard is a whole new spontaneous action movie. Bruce Willis brings action and comedy to this film. This is the fifth installment in the series which began in 1988. It has the usual wisecracks and explosions that have become the hallmark of this series.
In A Good Day to Die Hard, Bruce Willis plays a former police officer who seeks a vacation in Moscow, Russia. Willis tries to help his son Jack McClain (Jai Courtney) get out of prison. Jack is arrested for assassination, but agrees to testify against Rooskie bad guy Komarov(Sebastian Koch) for a shorter sentence. Komarov a “political prisoner” supposedly is in possession of an incriminating file. He refuses to give a file that contains evidence against Chagrin. Shortly after, John McClain gets to the courtroom where he goes to get Jack out of prison. He figures out that his son Jack has been a CIA operative for the past three years, whose mission is to deliver Komarov and the file to a safe house. Later, throughout the film Jack discovers Komarov’s files were only a vault containing a large amount of weapons-grade uranium.
