Fire and fear strikes Boston Marathon; one suspect killed, one captured

Fire and fear strikes Boston Marathon; one suspect killed, one captured

A day of fire and fear struck the city of Boston, MA earlier this week when two bombs went off during a famous marathon.

On Monday April 15, two homemade bombs went off killing three and injuring more than 170 people. The event took place during the 117th annual Boston Marathon. Many people around the world were in shock. Major cities across globe didn’t hesitate to hire more security at events with large gatherings. A local point of view is all the security at Dodger Stadium.

In Boston, many family members and friends gathered to see the runners cross the finish line when an explosion occurred. Dozens fell on their feet and more than half couldn’t even get up. Luckily many of the first responders knew exactly what to do. It was not until three days later F.B.I. released images and video of the suspected terrorists. Two men wearing backpacks and ballcaps were spotted walking closely together in a suspicious style. Police identified the men as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev. As of today policed announced the death of the elder brother, Tamerlan Tsarnev, 26. Sited at a convenience store robbing, Tamerlan shot at police and died in a shoot out. 19 year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, however, remained at large for the entire next day, paralyzing a major metropolitan American city. He was finally found and captured alive and remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds. The FBI is questioning him, hoping to come to some resolution as to why these Russian brothers would do such an act.

While the younger brother was still at large, his uncle begged for him to  turn himself in, and also apologized to the victims of the bombing. The bombing of the marathon brought grief to our country and around the world. All we can hope for now, is justice.
