Colton, CA—The Colton boys soccer team came into this game on Friday night on quite a tear. Winners of their last 4 games, and boasting a record of 6-1-1, the Yellowjackets were prepared to take on the Arroyo Valley Hawks, winning their fifth straight, 3-1.

Arroyo Valley kicked things off with a quick goal early in the first half, putting the Hawks up 1-0. The Yellowjackets tied it up on a goal by Ivan Rodiles two minutes later.

The Yellowjackets and Hawks found themselves in a stalemate until late in the first half, when a yellow card against Hawks goalkeeper Jose Flores set up a beautiful curving free kick by center midfielder Manuel Alonso.

Up 2-1, Colton struck again early in the second half when Yahir Rodriguez put the ball into the net with a kick. Hawks head coach Andres Pelayo earned a yellow card for arguing with the referee on a missed call.

Colton ended the game with a 3-1 victory, putting their record at 7-1-1. They begin San Andreas league play this week, with a road game at Kaiser on Tuesday and a home game against Summit on Friday.
