Mens’ Tennis falls to Jurupa Hills, 16-2

Colton, CA—Today the mens’ tennis team faced off against Jurupa Hills in a Skyline League match up. The Spartans took advantage of the short-handed Yellowjackets and won, 16 sets to 2.

For the singles, sophomore Adrian Colunga continued his strong play, winning one of the Yellowjackets’ two sets. He went 0-6, 3-6, 6-4. Andrew Diaz one a game in each of his three sets, going 1-6, 1-6, 1-6. The third singles spot went unoccupied, as the team’s third player was unavailable for undisclosed reasons.

On the doubles side, Myles Garza and Joel Matias took a set against the Spartans, finishing the match 1-6, 2-6, 6-1. Anthony Castellanos and Jordan Dubon fought hard, but lost in straight sets, 2-6, 2-6, 2-6. And rounding out the doubles, Angel Orellana and Ja’len Terry also lost in straight sets, 1-6, 0-6, 2-6.

Mens’ tennis gets a rematch with Jurupa Hills tomorrow in Fontana. They will stay on the road for Thursday’s match against Grand Terrace.
