The Yellowjackets came out aggressive in the first quarter of their 48-24 victory over Entrepreneur High.

Colton, CA—After losing their last road game to Coachella Valley High, the Lady Yellowjackets took the Thanksgiving Break to make some adjustments and returned to their home court last night to even their record on the season to 2-2 with a blow out 48-24 victory over Entrepreneur High.

Center Madison Barrera led all scorers with 22 points, including a dominating 10 points in the first quarter. Desiree Cadena added 10 points.

The Yellowjackets came out hungry from opening tip-off, putting the game out of reach for Entrepreneur in the first quarter by going on a 21-1 run. Barrera did most of her damage during that stretch, putting up 10 points.

After the first quarter, the game settled in, but the Yellowjackets didn’t lose focus, winning each remaining quarter in route to their victory.

“We had a good game tonight,” head coach Keisha Young said. “The girls came out hard, they came out aggressive, and they played together. I’m thankful for the win, and thankful for my girls stepping up and playing hard.”

“We deserved it,” senior guard Itaty Morales shared about this important victory. “We’ve been losing, honestly. And it was good to be back—I just came back from an injury. It was great. I got to start again.”

The Lady Yellowjackets hit the road again today for a match up against Indian Springs.
