Colton’s track and field season starts off with first track meet

Colton’s first track tri-meet with Rubidoux and Riverside Poly started as a nerve racking meet. Most returners had experience the tense and shaky feeling of just running off. For everyone who is new to Colton’s Track & Field, were shaking off the nervous feeling; but did pretty well after just the first few events. This meet was more of a timed practice just against two other schools would weren’t on the league yet.

Colton was visiting Polyriverside’s new track field. Poly has told us that they never had even one football game played on their field. The only sport who has ever played on the field was their soccer team. Poly opened the field by having one of their student sing the national anthem.

The Track runners gave it their best, but some began to fade out throughout the end. The most important part was all the runners gave it their best in the end. Colton Track & Field have been practicing for over a month now. The Athletics have been practicing throughout the whole month of January. The season begins when we have our second meet at Fontana High School; March sixth.

Thursday; February 28, 2013 was a good day for Colton’s Track & Field. Everyone showed great sportsmanship, we were really honored to be at a school with a new field.

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
