Road To the Super Bowl full of unexpected twists

What a weekend of professional football! There are now only four teams left standing on the road to the Super Bowl and it looks like, from what we saw this weekend, it’s going to be intense. The “Miracle” as now called, was the Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos game on Saturday. Just when the Broncos thought they had this game in the bag, the Ravens came back and forced Denver to go into double overtime. A field goal by Ravens’ kicker Justin Tucker helped Baltimore beat the Broncos 38-35. After their win, Baltimore is now preparing for the New England Patriots for a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game.

But what may have caught people by surprise: the Green Bay Packers vs. the San Francisco 49ers, a hard fought game. But there is no stopping Colin Kaepernick and his offense right now. They are now once again on their way to the NFC Championship after their win at home where they beat Green Bay 45-31. Now San Francisco is back on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.

We all witnessed a jaw dropper on Sunday–the Falcons hosted the Seahawks. During the first half, it was Atlanta’s game, but the Seahawks weren’t going to let this one slip away. During the second half Seattle bounced back, and at one point had the lead with 31 seconds left in the game. But thanks to a game winning field goal, Atlanta won for the first time in the playoffs, 30-28. They are now getting ready to host the 49ers this Sunday.

The last game of the weekend was none other than the Houston Texans vs. the New England Patriots. Everyone remembers the December game, where the Patriots stomped the Texans in a 42-14 win, but many thought we were going to see a new Texans team. There was more effort by Houston both offensively and defensively, but unfortunately it was not enough to beat the Patriots. The Patriots beat the Texans once again with a 41-28 win. Now the Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens, for the second year in a row going for the win in the AFC Championship and another shot at the super bowl. They will have to play unfortunately without Rob Gronkowski, Patriots Tight End, who re-injured his forearm.

Don’t miss this weekend championship games this Sunday!
