Local center for LGBTQ+ youth to host back-to-school event on Saturday

The Joshua Home is a non-profit organization that supports local LGBTQ+ youth. They are hosting a Back-to-School event on Saturday to provide free clothes, shoes and supplies for kids.

This Saturday, August 26 from 11-2pm The CENTER @ Joshua Home is hosting a “Queer Kickoff” which is a Back-To-School and Open House Event. It will be located in Colton at 306 W. Hanna St.

It is sponsored by Riverside-San Bernardino Indian Health, Inc. Free clothes, shoes, games, food, beverages, and more will be made available to those who attend the event.

Events like these give students the ability to connect and celebrate the community’s “New Drop-In Center for LGBTQ+ Youth.”

The Joshua Home is a non-profit organization based in Colton to advocate for housing solutions for LGBTQ+ youth in the Inland Empire. The organization was founded by Annette Patterson-Moore as a means to “end LGBTQ+ youth homelessness.”

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
