Colton, CA—To finish off the first week of school for the 2025-2026 year, Colton High held its annual PBIS Implementation Day and assembly.
ASB, Cheer, Choir and New Generation Hip-Hop Dance Club joined CHS administration to welcome students back to school, treat everyone to performances, and inform the student body about academic and behavioral requirements.
“The PBIS implementation Assembly is for our schoolwide expectations. They’re delivered by our administration every year,” shared Danielle Fernadez, CHS’ Learning Specialist.
Among the information reviewed at the assembly included graduation requirements and behavioral expectations surrounding the school’s PBIS motto: “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Act with Integrity.” Administration staff and the school resource officer were introduced.
On the fun side of the assembly, both New Generation and Cheer performed routines on the Whitmer stage. In between speeches by administrators and performances, ASB students held raffles for Colton High gear. Students were entered into the raffle by checking in on the 5-Star app before entering the assembly.
PBIS is an acronym for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Systems. PBIS is a district-wide program that provides us with behavioral support. For the past few years, we have gotten awards for being a good PBIS school.
“It was a good assembly about teaching the freshmen how to act with integrity,” said junior Israel Perez “ To act of integrity, you have to manage your impulses, and have manners.”
