Colton, CA—Things are starting to fire up for the graduating class of 2025 and their parents.
Colton High School held its annual senior and parent informational assembly on Aug. 7 in the Whitmer Auditorium, hosted by school administration and ASB leadership.
Parents and students of the graduating class 2025 were presented essential information regarding senior year via a slide show. Several topics were covered, including senior contracts, graduation and college requirements, senior year activities, and senior merchandise, like yearbooks, caps and gowns, and class rings.
The slide show, which is linked here in this article posting, was shared with all seniors via email and will also be shared with parents through Q communicator. The slides are in English and Spanish.
Senior contract and the CAR list was the most important information presented at the meeting. Principal John Abbott took the stage to share the serious details about the consequences of unverified absences, tardies, suspensions, and school debt. Seniors are advised to attend school daily and avoid tardiness.
Students with more than 12 unverified period absences (equal to two full school days) and more than 10 tardies will be in violation of their senior contract and denied participation in many senior activities. In addition to parents clearing unverified absences with the attendance office, students can participate in Saturday School as well.
Once Principal Abbott concluded his part of the presentation, ASB President Aubrey Rodriguez and Senior Class President Alexa Munoz came on stage to share about more exciting topics like Grad Nite, Prom, and the College Commitment Ceremony.
After all of this was mentioned, ASB Director Alexandra Buskirk covered Grad Nite details. She indicated this year ASB is exploring the possibility of adding a second Grad Nite event at Universal Studios’ annual “Grad Bash.” ASB intends to reach out to seniors to determine student interest in this event.
Additional information about merchandise for seniors included cap and gown, which can be purchased through Herff Jones. The cap and gown is at the low price of $50. Herff-Jones requests seniors submit a student survey to ensure the company is aware of student height and weight information. This will help them to make sure they can meet all student sizing needs.
