Colton, CA—Last night in the Cafetorium, the Class of 2022 were honored at the annual Senior Awards ceremony. At the 90 minute ceremony, hundreds of seniors received awards in a number of categories, including academic honors, stole presentations, and scholarships.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian were officially named at the ceremony. Sadie Larios, editor for the Pepper Bough, is the 2022 Valedictorian. Tiffany Trieu is Salutatorian. Both will be delivering speeches during the graduation ceremony on Thursday.
Mr. and Ms. Yellowjacket were also named at the event. Both were recipients of a $300 scholarship and plaque.
In addition to the night’s biggest prizes, a number of students were awarded academic medals for their performance during the 2021-2022 school year. Many were also the recipients of scholarships, including San Bernardino Valley College’s “Valley Bound” scholarship, which pays for books and tuition for the students’ first year.
The night also saw the awarding of the Seal of Biliteracy, which acknowledges students who have studied and shown proficiency in two or more languages.
The CHS Welding Pathway presented stoles to its graduating seniors.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
