ASB expects to get “caught in the moments” of Prom 2022 at Fête the Venue
The Costa Mesa location, originally booked for 2020, now serves at the perfect spot for this year’s event
For most teenagers, prom is the most fancy, exotic, and glamorous night of the year. ASB starts planning up to a year in advance, scouting venues, and putting together ideas that will make the night a truly memorable one. They keep the venue and theme a secret, waiting to unveil it at the Prom Fashion Show to get all the juniors and seniors fired up to go.
At this year’s Fashion Show, the ASB junior leadership of Denise Diaz, Marissa Lopez, and Leiloni Zesati revealed the theme and site for the 2022 Prom. Colton High’s Prom attendees will be “Caught in the Moment” at Fête the Venue in Costa Mesa.
Originally, Fête The Venue, which is located 3101 Red Hill Ave, Costa Mesa was chosen for the 2020 Prom, but due to COVID, it was rescheduled for the 2022 prom event.
One of the main reasons why Fête was chosen is its romantic location. “Fête the Venue is a beautiful location that perfectly captures our ‘Caught in the Moment’ theme,” said Denise Diaz.
Fête’s appeal is its large, open area, which makes it perfect for designing and decorating. According to the venue’s website, “The space at Fête works as a fabulous backdrop for a minimalist’s soiree or a blank canvas that can be converted into a tres chic gala. Your event dreams transform into realities in our adaptable space.”
A description like this makes the venue perfect for this year’s theme, “Caught in the Moment.”
“Class of 2022 had many things taken away from them,” Diaz said. “And finally being seniors is a thrilling feeling that many can attest has brought so many beautiful memories, so we are really trying to capture and create those at prom.”
Everything from the theme revival banner down to the invitations have been focused to create memories for the seniors. And yearbook staff will be on site to catch each thrilling, romantic moment as well.
The 2022 Prom is shaping up to be quite the event of the season.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
