On Thursday, January 9th 2013, the San Bernardino County Mock Trial award banquet was held, and Colton High School’s team pulled in some major accolades. English teacher  and Mock Trial adviser Lucy Leyva and all of the other coaches for the mock trial expressed a huge “THANK YOU” for  their hard work above and beyond the call of duty.

“This is our 2nd year together, and I’m so proud of the kiddos,” Leyva said.

The following are the teammates of county mock trial who received awards:

Jesse Juarez received an award for the best supporting role as a bailiff.

Alec Ramirez received an award for best prosecution attorney.

Carlos Bastida received an award for best defense witness.

Wendy Santamaria received a coach’s award.

Congratulations to all the Mock Trial winners and to Ms. Leyva!

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
