Pitbull attack leaves Colton child dead

People say dogs are man’s best friends–but they might not be a child’s.

According to local news reports, on September 23rd there was emergency call to 911 here in Colton that there was a child mauled by multiple pit bulls. The boy’s parents weren’t there because they had dropped him off and his two other brothers at his grandmother’s home. When the authorities got there they found out that the baby had snuck out the window when no one was paying attention. When the baby climbed out the window and the pit bulls attacked it. No one saw the baby or heard it but the baby had to be screaming, it was helpless. According to reports, one of the baby’s arms was missing and his face was mauled.  The baby was suffering from wounds and was losing blood, he was also found unclothed .He was sent to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

The uncle and grandmother were held responsible for taking care of the baby and were arrested.  The grandmother of the child wasn’t home when the incident happened so she was not charged.  The uncle stayed in jail because he was reasonable for the baby.  The dogs were taken to San Bernardino Animal Shelter and were euthanized.

This was the second dog attack in Colton this year.  There have been candles placed inside and outside the home to memorialize the dead child, said the family members, according to the Los Angeles Times.
