This school year Colton High School received a new Assistant Principal John Abbott. After Daniel Trevarthen (former assistant principal of CHS) was transferred to Colton Middle, Abbot was appointed to be the new assistant principal. Before coming to Colton Abbott work for a variety of schools like Grand Terrace, San Bernardino High, San Andreas High in Los Angeles, and the learning center in Rubidoux, Riverside Ca. The most recent school that he worked at was Grand Terrace as a math teacher.

Abbot seems to be enjoying the school saying, “It is a good school with students and staff that are very friendly. I really enjoy being here as the assistant principal.”

Abbott says his job is demanding but rewarding. Being the assistant principal you have a lot of responsibility and working hard will always reward you in the end.

When asked about plans on making improvements with the school, Abbott replied, “Everything can be improved. Nothing is perfect and I’m in support of everything Ms. Corridan is doing to improve the school.”

Some of the programs Abbott is currently working on are the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program, Advanced Placement program, and the Pre ACT program.

The Pepper Bough gladly welcomes Mr. Abbott as the schools new assistant principal and hopes he enjoys his time here at CHS.
