New Colton senior housing complex in construction

New+Colton+senior+housing+complex+in+construction

The city of Colton is finally getting a new senior housing complex. After the tearing down of the old Colton Palms senior housing complex about five years ago, the city is finally constructing a new one to replace it.

The construction of this new building is already in action. The complex will have a Santa Barbara Mission style design and will feature a 2,500 square foot community. Constructed between E Street, F Street, La Cadena Avenue and 9th Street adjacent to Colton’s Downtown Civic Center. The area is currently fenced up and bulldozers can be seen from the streets. E street was closed due to the moving of materials from the police station to the construction site across the street.

The complex will be a two story building with an additional two three-story senior housing building consisting of about 90,000 square feet. The building will also include a large lap pool with Jacuzzis. The building also contains 40 two-bedroom units and 80 one-bedroom units. This will all be constructed on approximately 3.4 acres.

The project is slated to be completed by early 2014. The cost of living in the new building will be very affordable for seniors and theur families, but the prices on the units are not official yet. Families will now have a place for their seniors to live, and they won’t be far from home.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
