FIDM Club reopens, is ready to accept newcomers

The first FIDM Club meeting was held on April, 11, 2013 in room 403. The adviser, Peter Goldkorn explained to everyone that the FIDM club worked a couple years ago, but only certain students were interested and eventually graduated, leaving the club with no members, so it just kind of faded away.

Now, junior Alexis Hannifin decided that she wanted to re-start the FIDM club since she is so interested in becoming a student at the FIDM Institute. Hannifin also knows many students who are interested in the same career as her or other career training that FIDM offers. Unfortunately, at the meeting there were only eleventh graders, so they established that in order to keep the FIDM club for vanishing they will need to increase the number of freshmen and sophomores who are in the club.

For those who are not very familiar with FIDM, it is the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. FIDM School offers so many creative career training skills and it does not specialize on only one thing. They have so many different categories from fashion to makeup to film design and more. If you are interested in anything like makeup, jewelry, fashion design, film or other things relating to that matter, then joining FIDM is definitely the way to go.

Hannifin, the president of the FIDM Club at Colton High will be holding meetings every Friday in order to begin the first FIDM event. The next meeting is going to be held on Friday April 19th, 2013, and everyone is more than welcome to join any time he or she would like. FIDM Club will be an amazing experience and will allow you to express all your creativity in more ways than one. Everyone will welcome you, so don’t be afraid to ask any questions. If you have any questions please contact Goldkorn in room 403.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
