The end of the school year is getting closer; we have all realized how fast this school year has gone by. While seniors are preparing to say goodbye, others are preparing to move up a ladder– juniors are realizing next school year will be the last year they attend Colton High School.
Counselors are already talking to students about their classes for next year, asking what is next on their “to-do” list. Many juniors are afraid to take hard classes next year for the fear of not passing every class, while others say they are going to take a break senior year. Many are planning on not using their senior year to play sports but to focus only on school. As you go through your school year ,you hear from other students that senior year should be the easiest year; it’s scary for many to move on to their next school year while for others it is more of an excitement and a relief that high school is almost over.
Counselors have met with students, telling them what would be good for next year and what will be bad, just analyzing their old and new schedules. Students are hesitant about choosing classes because they don’t know what to expect. Many others just want to get registration over with and choose what seems more fun rather than difficult– it really varies on the student’s point of view on taking the next step. For many, change is not good, but sometimes change Is what makes it that much more fun. It is difficult to plan out your schedule for next year not only because it’s new but because you want to have friends in that class or have fun. The truth is when it’s your last year of high school you want to make sure your schedule is perfect and make memories to tell after all that will be your last year.
