You may have heard that old timey song “Shave and a haircut, two bits,” but for three Colton High teachers, the haircuts and shaves they just underwent were worth lots of bucks, and all for charity.
During winter break on December 22nd Colton High participated in a fundraiser walk-a-thon for the Fuerte and Lopez families.
Teachers Peter Goldkorn, Terry Urban, and Nick Vidovich, made a deal with ASB advisor, Gloria Ramirez, stating that if the clubs were to produce over a certain amount of money, then they would shave their beards, mustache, or hair.
During one of the pep rallies they decided to do it in front of the whole school. Barber Erik Lozano trimmed them up to make them look fresh. Urban was the first to get shorn: he decided to cut off his beard and mustache he had growing for a while. It was a good thing for them to participate and to do this.
Then Goldkorn had decided to shave his beard. Vidovich is the one who’s been having the same look for a while, probably since forever.
Students were very surprised that Vidovich, or “Vido,” had participated in this bet. He let Lozano shave his massive beard and then gave him a classy haircut. They all looked better and much younger. It was a good thing for them to participate in this.
Thank you to all the clubs that have participated and helped us reach our goal of the desired amount of money that made these teachers participate. It was for a good cause.
