New elective premieres for film buffs

For all those interested in film, Colton High School is offering Film Studies as an elective this school year. It is instructed by English teacher Jeremiah Dollins who happens to love movies.

Film Studies “takes a look at the history and art of film, figuring out the way films are put together, and analyzing film,” says Dollins.

A “life-long passion for movies” led Dollins to start a Film Studies class. The movie that made him love movies and film over all was Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. He said that he actually paid to see it in theaters seven times! Dollins describes the class as an opportunity to take a different look into the world of film.

The elective has its own class blog that is updated weekly with movie reviews, both old and new, and you can check that out HERE.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
