Hats and tats the new normal in a relaxed dress code, but be careful

School has begun, the hot weather is out, and we’ve all seen them: girls wearing short shorts that show their behinds, as well as tube tops with nothing over them. Boys sporting hats, beanies, and inappropriate shirts.

The purpose of the district’s dress code regulations is to maintain a safe environment and also encourage students to dress appropriately and to come to school properly prepared.

If you get cited for a dress code violation, the consequences for your first offense will be a verbal warning and counseling and you will be asked to change into acceptable clothing. The second offense consists of in school suspension, and on the third offense a parent conference is called for. In all three instances written documentation is made of the infraction and parents are notified.

Also at all times you are to have your I.D. card on you to show verification that you do attend Colton High School.  If you do not have this on you then you will get cited for dress code.

So let’s make this 2012\2013 a great year and not get caught up in the dress code merry-go-round. Dress appropriately and not as if you were going out to a party.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
