Robert Verdi Looks Ahead to District Promotion

Former Colton High School Principal Robert J. Verdi has recently left to take the position of Director of Human Resources at the district office. Verdi has been in education for 15 years, seven of which were spent teaching and coaching. This is Verdi’s fourth year as Colton High’s principal. When being given the opportunity to elevate his position in the district, Verdi had mixed emotions about taking accepting promotion due to Colton High School’s great progress and accomplishments throughout the last couple of years. Verdi’s job at the district office will be to enforce district policy, work under the Assistant Superintendant of Human Resources, and to hire and train new district employees. Working there will be a new experince since he will have to interact with people in a different way. Verdi is going to miss the energy he had with our Colton High School students and working together with the staff. He says he’ll also miss the cooperation of everyone that made it possible for the school to progress into a better learning environment. While he enjoyed the everyday tasks the job of principal entails, he most enjoyed being out with the students on campus. Verdi’s fondest memories are the relationships he has built with everyone throughout the time he has been at CHS, as well as the progress he has witnessed the school make. He is going to miss the pride of accomplishment in test scores, graduation, and all things big to small. Verdi appreciates all the support he has recieved from the students, parents, and staff at Colton. Amanda Corridan, Coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance at the district office, will soon assume Verdi’s position as Colton High School’s principal. Keep an eye out for a PB interview with Corridan.

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
