What would your ballroom entrance song be?

Who do you look up to as motivation for your campaign?

The person that I looked up to during this campaign is someone that I will look up to forever, and that is Ms. V [Ed.: Ms. Evelin Villa, former Wellness Center Coordinator].

I remember when it was sophomore year and I just didn’t want to be here–I was just out of it. I mainly went to the Wellness Center and there I found Ms.V. I told her that I didn’t want to be here and I wanted to go back to distance learning. She told me to try to get through the year and to keep trying to get through each day and to always try my best. Mostly I would tell her no and that I just want to go to distance learning and just not to expose myself out there in the world.

Then as the years went by I slowly started to make less and less visits to the Wellness Center and started to make new friends and meet new people. I sometimes visited her.

Now, as I have started to campaign for Homecoming King, I went to visit her and told her what I was doing, but that I also became president of a club. She was so proud of me! We both reflected on the times in which I didn’t want to be in school and just wanted to be far away. Because of her I have grown so much in school.

She always supported me and told me to keep on trying and that I will soon love it here. Now I do.

I am positively sure that she has also done the same to many other students and I love how she supports everyone and is always very positive and kind. She has opened my mind and I will never forget the positive and kind things that she has said to me and to many other students.

Thank you Ms. V, you will always have a place in my heart, you made me take a big step in life.
