Since Kassandra Romo was in elementary school, she always knew who she wanted to be.
Entering high school, she had goals in mind that she was committed to fulfilling. Her plan involved becoming part of the Homecoming Court. Last year, in her junior year, Romo was nominated for junior princess, but did not win the crown. She took the loss as motivation and expressed, “I took the loss as motivation to go harder this year.”
Now a senior, Romo is very involved with the school community. She is in Link Crew, Cheer, a representative for National Honor Society, the Associated Student Body, AVID, and Key Club.
“Being involved, showing up, and the commitment I put into school will help me carry out my life outside of school,” she said.
Kassandra, her friends and her family, were overjoyed hearing the news she had made it to Senior Court. She has made sure her name is everywhere, putting up both physical and digital campaign posters of herself and her running mate, Colton Kagarise.
Colton and her friend Charley have been very supportive people throughout the Homecoming season. “They’ve both supported me throughout the whole process and make time to create and hang up our posters.”

This whole experience has filled Romo’s heart with gratitude, and she has been ecstatic to share it with the people around her. As defeated as she felt in her junior year, she shares how being on the senior court this year was a second chance for her to work harder and redeem herself. Kassandra holds herself to a high standard and has high hopes for herself this year, and hopes all her hard work will pay off.
“The opportunity to be nominated is something I am grateful for. I am just doing my best to be able to win.”
After high school, Romo plans to study Radiology at a four-year university like UCLA or CBU for Radiology. She also intends to continue cheerleading.
All the hard work that Kassandra has put into herself and her future makes her feel very empowered with herself, and she is very grateful and happy with her life and how she’s planned it. With all the experience Kassandra has gained throughout high school via clubs, school planning, college preparation, and the activities she does outside school, she plans to use it all to continue being her best self that she is today.
