Christian Jason has been nominated for Homecoming court 2025 and he couldn’t have made it this far without the support he received from friends, family and the community of Colton.
For the last three years, Christian ran for Homecoming but he never got nominated.
Christian said he was really nervous about running this year. One thing that really made him worry was that he had barely done any campaigning, with only a few posters around and some instagram posts.
But there was one major difference this time around for Christian’s homecoming run.
In previous years he had run alone, but that changed when Alexis Cartagena asked him to run with her. Christian immediately accepted this without a second thought and together, they both became members of the Homecoming court with hopes of winning the crown.
Alexis is someone Christian feels really close to, stating that they never bicker and she’s always there for him when he’s down. They’ve been friends for years and are in cheer together.
“She’s a really real person,” Christian said about his running mate.
As they ran together, both his and Alexis’ mothers were big supporters.

Christian’s mother is really important to him. She’s been his biggest cheerleader throughout high school. She’s a single mother who works hard to support everything he does. Being part of organizations like cheer is not cheap, but she works hard to make it happen.
Homecoming has proven to be expensive too, as Christian needed money for things like new clothes, which his mother didn’t have a problem getting for him.
But she’s not just a financial support to him. She brings moral support and is someone whom Christian feels really close to.
“My mom is my power source. She’s the person I turn to when I don’t know where to go. She’s a superwoman.”
With mom as an example, Christian has made the most of his high school experience. He’s engaged in his community, involved in ASB, Link Crew, and Cheer. He is the 2026 Senior Class President and has clocked over 2,000 hours of community service.
As if that were not enough, now he’s trying to get a job. His preference is In-N-Out Burger. He has two older siblings who both work at In-N-Outs, and he plans to follow in their footsteps.
Christian loves Colton, and describes it as something not like other communities, “It’s really welcoming,” he said.
Although he doesn’t know what he wants to do as a profession, he knows one thing: he wants to get as far away as possible, then come back as something big so he can give back to this wonderful community that raised him.
Right now, giving back is about hoping his run for Homecoming Court might inspire others to do the same. He sees himself as different compared to most people, and wants others who also see themselves as different to realize they could do this, too.
One thing is clear, Christian has a lot of love in his heart for Colton and he wants to make sure Colton knows it.
