Pass that test! (Here are some handy tips)

Let’s be honest, studying isn’t fun for anybody. The word itself is a contraction of the words student and dying. Finals are coming at us, and failure is not an option. Luckily there are ways to keep yourself alive and ready for your test or quiz.

  • It is always best to review the material you have while it is fresh in your mind rather than when you don’t even remember taking the notes.
  • Focus on one topic at a time.
  • Keep materials out even if it’s just for reference, but don’t drown in a sea of books.
  • Try studying in the quiet or with classical music, your favorite songs will only distract you.
  • Avoid your bed at all costs, you will get too comfortable ( or sleepy )
  • Begin with the most important, or confusing to you, material you have. It’s not a great beginning, but if it’s at the end, you’ll be overwhelmed.
  • Summarize your notes as you look over them, it’s a great way to get the information twice.
  • Give yourself little breaks, so as not to drag it out. If you grab a snack be sure to crunch on some walnuts because they help your brain to stay focused.
  • You can never go wrong with making flash cards.
  • Try studying somewhere new like a library, park, or quiet coffee shop so it’s not the same experience every time and you’re mind is open to taking in new information.

Hopefully these tips helped, and good luck to you Yellow Jacket.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
