Colton Synergy offers more than just socializing

Synergy is where you could express the feelings that you’ve been holding in for so long and finally let them out. This will help students both emotionally and physically.

Students and teachers will listen to what you’re struggling with, whether it’s about family and/or school. No matter what it is they will listen and help you through it. The best thing about this, what happens in Synergy stays in Synergy. You could trust people with what you have to say and not be judged one bit.

You’ll actually be surprised with how many similarities you have with other people. Synergy can be very emotional but you’ll walk out feeling so much better and have a different view on everything and everybody in life.

I was told from many students and teachers that they did enjoy Synergy and they would like to attend another one of their events. Colton High does participate in creating Synergy events. History teacher, Deborah Villegas, is mostly in charge of all of it. This event takes place in either the Hubb’s or Mac gym. Villegas notifies Principal Amanda Corridan, whom notifies the school what days the events will take place on.

This is an all day event, it has many activities that you can participate in and enjoy doing. One of the main activities is sitting in a huge circle and listening to other people’s stories. An activity like this one helps you to get more comfortable with your surroundings and makes you realize that you can trust the people you’re opening up to. These stories can be emotional, yet relieving because others could be going through the same things you are and still standing strong.

I personally do like Synergy. It helped me let out all the pain and anger I was holding in and made me feel ten times better at the end of the day. Knowing that I’m not being judged and people actually listen to what I am saying just makes me notice that there are people who actually care.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
