Attention couch potatoes: to be healthy, one must eat healthy

Do you know someone or have relative with high cholesterol? Have you even glanced at your parents—and realize that thirty years from now you are going to look howthey look now? Sometimes it’s genetic, but here are a few ways to change your bad eating habits.

Junk food? I mean, who doesn’t love it, right? “Junk” food is terrible for our health. The problem is with people who can’t lose weight or have a healthy diet if soda, snacks, and potato chips are involved. The biggest junk food that’s bad for you is fast food.  It’s everywhere,
like McDonald’s. Anywhere, just name it: hospitals, gas stations, even in stores such as Wal-Mart.

Why do people love junk food? People just love how it tastes. Our bodies tend to crave certain junk food. Junk food contains carbs, sugar, fat, and sodium. You can change all that by eating healthier. Want to know how to eat healthy? Perhaps you recall your mom always saying, “Eat your vegetable and fruits, it’ll help you grow.” It’s true, every vegetable and fruit contains something to help keep your body healthy.

Lastly, the trick is to ditch bad eating habits. An example is if you love to eat potato chips or french fries with a sandwich or a burger, before even eating all that delicious food you’ll regret in the end. You should eat or add some salty almonds. Or you can have
probably a cup or plate of mixed salty nuts. Anything but those empty carbohydrates.

The bottom line is if you want to be healthy, you’ve got to start eating healthy. You are what you eat, you know. Do you want to go through life as a couch potato?

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
