No Excuse For Child Abuse

There is nothing more heartbreaking than the innocence that is lost when a child is abused. Child abuse has always been with us, and probably always will, sad to say.

The four main types of Child Abuse are physical, sexual, and psychological and neglect. Child sexual abuse is a form of a child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation. Effects of child sexual abuse include guilt, self-blame, flashbacks, nightmares and insomnia.

A lot of children around the world unfortunately go through this—and the abuse can come from either strangers, or, tragically enough, even from those close to the child, whom the child knows and trusts—a minister, teacher, friend, parent, sibling or other family member.

If a young girl gets abused there is always the possibility of pregnancy. Children resulting from unintended pregnancies are most likely to be abused or neglected. Unintended pregnancies are more likely than intended pregnancies to be associated with abusive relationships.

According to Advertise Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) the early experiences of child abuse can trigger the development of an internalizing disorder, such as anxiety or depression. Children who get abused tend to consider suicide. Child abuse can also cause problems with the neurodevelopment of a child. Adults with a history of abuse have more chances of developing depression than an adult who has never been abused.

Children who are physically abused are likely to receive bone fractures, particularly rib fractures, and may have a risk of developing cancer. With physical abuse, children may have bruises on their, arms and legs. The immediate physical effects of abuse or neglect can be relatively minor or severe. In some cases the physical effects can be temporary.

One of the most challenging ethical dilemmas arising from child abuse relates to the parental rights of abusive parents or caretakers. Child abuse also poses ethical concerns related to confidentiality as victims may be physically or psychologically unable to report to authorities. Most kids don’t want to tell anyone that they have been abused maybe because they are threatening by their abuser. Overall child abuse is no laughing matter, if you have ever been abused, don’t stay quiet. Go to a parent or guardian for help.
