With summer now in the not-so distant past, there’s still time to pretend like September 22 never happened.
If you had a summer 2025 playlist there’s a good chance that one of these five songs were included. From rooftop parties to late night at the beach or late night drives, these summer songs were everywhere and I don’t see anyone mad about it.
“Blessings” – Calvin Harris ft. Clementine Douglas
This song feels dancey, dreamy, and feels like sunshine. Calvin went full festival mode, and Celementine’s vocals are just so smooth like butter. It’s the kind of song that makes everything feel lighter and just golden. It is perfect for dancing bear foot on a sunny day at the beach.
“Illegal” – PinkPantheress
Only PinkPantheress could make a song about doing something you probably shouldn’t be doing that sounds this sweet. It’s quick, catchy, and a little messy, but in the best way possible. It gives off a total main-character vibe.
“Luther” – Kendrick Lamar & SZA
It’s deep, smooth, and ridiculously good. Kendrick and SZA work beautifully together and this track hits that perfect balance between thoughtful and just straight up vibes. You can play this during a sunset and just think about life.
“Nice Shoes” – Steve Lacy
Flirty and fun, it’s all in one charm. Steve turns a simple compliment into a funky little love song. It’s very laid back, cool without trying hard, and it kinda reminds you of the musical version of someone who has style winking at you across the room.
“Call on Me” – Daniel Caesar
A slow burn, but it hits deep. Caesar brings all of many feelings to this one. It’s soft, emotional, and perfect for those quiet summer nights when everything slows down and you’re just thinking about everything going on.
“Ordinary” – Alex Warren
A emotional roller coaster of a song, Alex Warren’t debut single found a huge worldwide audeince with this sincere take on how ordinary love makes us feel extraordinary things. Perfect for those bonfires at dusk on the beach as the evening tide begans crashing in, reminding you of just how vast the universe, and our capacity for love, is.
