Last year, “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” the long-awaited video game horror film, came out to great praise from fans, mixed reviews from critics, and box office success.
With that success comes a sequel, and on April 2 we got our first peek at what was teased last November. Universal and Blumhouse also set an official release date: December 5, 2025.
April 2, 2025, Blumhouse revealed their first teaser for FNAF2 and fans went bonkers, posting videos and photos of the new trailer on social media, revealing the new animatronics and characters, such as Toy Chica, Toy Freddy, Mangle, Toy Bonnie, and Balloon Boy. Special characters are revealed, but not shown in the trailer, such as Shadow Freddy, Puppet, Withered Freddy, Withered Bonnie, Withered Chica, and Withered Foxy.
When I first heard this, I was so excited words couldn’t explain how I first reacted. At first, I didn’t think the FNAF sequel would continue, and I thought that was the end, just like that, no more. But boy I was wrong. I still remember the time when I saw the movie poster on TikTok. Before I jumped to conclusions, I searched up “Fnaf 2 Movie poster” and clicked “search.” I immediately saw the poster and I knew it was finally an official poster. On TikTok, someone mentioned that the official FNAF2 trailer would be released on April 2.
I didn’t believe it for a bit. I felt like it was going to be an April Fool’s joke. Thanks to the lord, it was no joke.
I can’t remember the amount of times I’ve watched this trailer since it dropped. I guess I didn’t want to miss anything that was most likely hidden. First thing I noticed was the animatronics. I noticed Puppet wasn’t shown, you could hear her music box playing, but she was not shown. Don’t get me wrong, I heard they will have her in the film, just not in the trailer. I also noticed we got a small glance at Mangle, breaking through what seemed to be a window. I thought Mangle and the others looked stunning and very accurate to the game. I believe the toy animatronics were built by Jim Henson’s Creature (correct me if I’m wrong) and I’m really proud of their work. I really can’t wait to see the film being released on the big screen.
On social media, I heard some fans pointed to a scene where it appears Mangle is pulling someone up towards the ceiling. Fans suggested that it might even be the bite of 87.
There’s a lot of discussion about how the toy animatronics are moving around in locations outside of the pizzeria, such as a “FazFest,” and even in residential areas. There are already several fan theories about how they are able to move around so quickly.
So what are your thoughts on the trailer? Do you think it might be slightly better than the first one?
