It’s a new music week! And the new music is exploding like a shaken can of Coke. This week, we take a look at five hot new tracks from pop and hip-hop’s most popular new and established artists.

One Right Now – Post Malone (feat. The Weeknd)

Post Malone and the Weeknd have emerged as two of the biggest artists in the world, so it was only fitting that the dynamic duo combine their easy listening pop-hop stylings. On “One Right Now,” lead single on Post’s forthcoming untitled album, they find themselves in a sensitive mood as they consider a lover’s request to rekindle their romance after she was caught cheating. You can imagine the answer two international pop stars have for her when they have a million options waiting right outside their mansion doors.

Smokin Out The Window – Silk Sonic

“You got me out here/Smokin’ out the window/Singin’ ‘How could she do this to me?’” Outside the porch or balcony smoking a cig, reminiscing about your trifling, soon-to-be-ex girls—Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars bring the smooth 70s soul sounds to this song about their sensitive reflections on a relationship gone sour. The girls they once trusted slowly fade away through the song as they keep proclaiming, “How could she do this to me?” with the final realization that they are for everybody and not only for them.

No Love – Summer Walker (feat. SZA)

Being in lust makes you blind to things, which can get complicated. Summer and Sza are both talking about their ex things: Summer’s being baby daddy Producer London on Da Track and SZA’s being an old fling that she wants back. Summer’s sophomore album, “Still Over It” has been in the headlines lately for a contest she ran in major cities around the United States. A hard drive was invested in a bullet proof glass and whoever broke it got a private listening party with Summer herself.

ESCAPE PLAN – Travis Scott

Travis Scott gives us a sneak peak at the world of “Utopia” with his two track EP “Dystopia.” “ESCAPE PLAN,” which was tested in a PS5 campaign earlier this year, has been a track fans have been asking for. Travis floats on the Beat produced by Nik D and Oz cracking the door to the sound of “Utopia,” the album rumored for release later this year or early 2022. It has the potential to be better than 2018’s award-winning “Astroworld.”

Colors – Aminé

“TWOPOINTFIVE” is the latest project from Portland rapper Aminé. On “Colors,” he takes another go at a sound he has done before. The distortion on his voice has been something Aminé has messed with in the past. The noises in the back of the track can be almost as described as different shades of colors.

New Shapes – Charli XCX (feat. Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek)

With the new album postponed until March 2022, Charli XCX gives us another taste on this delicious pop track with her friends Christine and the Queens and Caroline P0lachek. The British pop singer told Rolling Stone recently that “New Shapes” is “a track signaling a new chapter for me in which I embraced all that the life of a pop figurehead has to offer in today’s world — celebrity, obsession, and global hits.” And she isn’t wrong.
