Move over VMAs, the Country Music Association Awards are in the building! This year’s CMAs were a huge success. The 46th annual CMA Awards took place in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, where stars walked the Macy’s Walk of Stars Red Carpet before the show. Hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley took the opportunity to poke fun at Swift’s notorious love life in their opening monologue. The awards also crowned the new king and queen of country, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert who scored a total of five trophies.

New Artist of the Year award went to Hunter Hayes. Music Video of the Year award which goes to the Artist and Director went to “Red Solo Cup,” by Toby Keith, Directed by Michael Salomon. Musician of the Year, Mac McAnally for her song “Guitar.”  Musical Event of the Year (award goes to each Artist) “Feel like a Rock Star,” by Kenny Chesney (duet with Tim McGraw), Blue Chair Records/Columbia Nashville. Vocal Duo of the Year was given to Thompson Square. Vocal Group of the Year went to Little Big Town. Male Vocalist of the Year, awarded to Blake Shelton.  Female Vocalist of the Year went to Miranda Lambert. Song of the Year (award goes to Songwriter(s)) went to “Over You” by the powerful couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Single of the Year (award goes to Artist and Producer(s)) “Pontoon,” by Little Big Town, Produced by Jay Joyce, Capitol Records Nashville.

The biggest award of the night went to the one and only Blake Shelton for Entertainer of the Year! Emotions ran everywhere for the country stars, but overall it was a wonderful and exciting show. Don’t miss out on next years’ CMAs!
