Going to prom can be stressful, especially for guys:  I mean, you have to choose a date, and then worry if she’ll say yes. That dilemma recently found CHS senior Isaiah Webb, who solved his prom date problem in an unusual way. He asked Channel  7 Eyewitness News Traffic Reporter Alysha Del Valle out, and he did it on a dare  in front of the whole senior class at senior activities day in the Hubbs Gym, and she said yes!

Here’s how it all went down: “I wasn’t planning it,” says Webb. “My friends dared me, so I figured I had nothing to lose.” Webb didn’t originally have a prom date and that morning his friends had dared to ask Del Valle to prom. Nothing was planned or prepared for. He admits that he thought she was going to turn down his date request and if so he would’ve been really embarrassed. “I felt astonished and excited when she said yes,” says Webb. His friends cheered for him and the crowd went crazy. When Webb told his family about him asking an older woman (Del Valle is 40) to prom they were surprised and in shock. They really weren’t expecting the news.

Prom night was a success for both Webb and Dell Valle; according to Webb prom was “crazy fun.” Prom was an unforgettable night for both—and it all started with a dare.  Watch the attached video for Del Valle’s recollections of the night as presented on Channel 7 News.
