“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is one of the towering movies in horror film history. It was only a matter of time that one of its series of sequels and/or reboots would win some sort of award. Thirty years after Leatherface first tore through a group of lost teens, the 2004 reboot won the Nickelodeon Teen Choice Award for “Best Thriller.”

Aware this moment might not happen again, Leatherface himself showed up to accept the award, and gave award presenter, “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson quite a surprise. With his chainsaw on the ready, Leatherface slashed through the smiley-faced Jackson, much to the terror of the unsuspecting teen audience. Was this real? Was it staged? Where was the Nickelodeon slime? Truly a terrifying moment in both Nickelodeon and horror movie history.
