Halloween Countdown – 31 Scary Moments – Oct. 4

Poor Georgie Denbrough has an unfortunate rainy day encounter with Pennywise the Dancing Clown

October officially marks the beginning of Scary Season. With this in mind, the Pepper Bough is celebrating with a daily dose of creepy moments sure to make your hairs stand on end. Come celebrate with us . . . if you dare.

“It,” based on the novel by Stephen King, is one of the most popular horror movies of all-time. Bill Skarsgård delivers an iconic performance as Pennywise the Clown, who abducts the children of the fictional town of Derry, Maine to feast off their fear. Few moments are as chilling as this one, when Pennywise lures in young Georgie Denbrough (Jackson Robert Scott) one rainy day from a storm gutter.

Pennywise: Hi Georgie! What a nice boat. Do you want it back?

Georgie: Um… Yes, please.

Pennywise: You look like a nice boy, I bet you have a lot of friends.

Georgie: Three… but my brother is my best’s best.

Pennywise: Where is he?

Georgie: In bed. Sick.

Pennywise: I bet I can cheer him up! I’ll give him a balloon. Do you want a balloon too, Georgie?

Georgie: I’m not supposed to take stuff from strangers.

Pennywise: Oh! Well, I’m Pennywise, the dancing clown. “Pennywise?”. “Yes?”, “Meet Georgie”. “Georgie, meet Pennywise”.
