Mock Trial: The People vs. Casey Davidson
November 8, 2017
In the case of The People VS. Casey Davidson a verdict of guilty was well deserved to Casey Davidson for the murder of Alex Thompson. An innocent man was murdered for his political beliefs when a speech was being held at their local Acorn Park. The defendant would say this was all a coincidence. Prosecutors could argue that this was planned with pure hatred for his opposing views.
How can it be such a coincidence that the victim’s blood was found on Davidson’s clothing which was obtained by Detective Carol with a search warrant. How can it be a coincidence that Thompson’s fingerprints were found on Davidson’s walking stick. One can say that Davidson was not affiliated with a political standpoint but if that was true then why did she attend the speech with her bullhorn which is emphasizes a voice to be heard.
During the 2 hour session yesterday, the defendant kept repeating that Davidson was only pushing and shoving Thompson as a form as self defense. All throughout this case we see only a one sided story because we can only hear Davidson’s side of the story but not of the victim. How can we believe someone who could be and was found the murderer of this case. To further convince you of the hatred Davidson had for Thompson something was said and is quoted as the Witness’s statement is “someone should kill idiots like you”. What person in their right mind wants to wish that on someone without hatred in those words. When questioned on it, Davidson herself stated that the idiot she was talking about was “Alex Thompson”.
Prosecution did a really good job at their cross examination almost cornering them and giving them the answers they wanted. Gender affiliation was a problem with prosecution because they couldn’t get the gender pronouns correctly. The defense would try and rebuttal on how prosecution never brought up the fitness tracker and who else had a spare key, also Detective Adrian Carroll failed to state how the clothes were found in Davidson’s home. When questioned he could never state if they were found in the trash or hidden because she supposedly had nothing to hide. The judge saw otherwise.
If more of a public audience was their to witness this, you yourself can see Davidson’s body language which consisted of multiple hand movements, different facial expressions, and smiling. Who smiles during a murder case? Someone with no affection and sympathy.
Don’t always believe the people you are closest to, they will always hold a hatred to your name for every single thing. In this case Davidson had that guilty verdict coming to her.
