Maddie and Tae are a 17-year-old country duo kicking off the new school year with new music and a video. Releasing their new album Aug. 28 and naming it “Start Here,” and scoring #1 single in Sugar Land, Texas, and Ada Oklahoma, the new album racked up over 23 million veto views, a Gold-Certified single and sparked a national covers action which was about a girl’s place in country music that also includes Atlantic Monthly, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times and The New Yorker.

“Cheekily appropriating much of the sounds of modern country, the two young women directly quote well-known Bro-Country lyrics and titles….” the Atlantic marveled, with the instant and intense there was denying its power with their supporting fans. When their new song was released last summer, Maddie and Tae scoring “10 New Artist You Need To Know” cited by Rolling Stone.

Maddie and Tae just wanted to write songs about life. Writing about bullying, clueless boys, the power of friendship, heartbreak, and even coming of age. They write variety of songs. Both being dreamers, Maddie and Tae growing up on the Dixie Chick met at the age 15 through a vocal coach and came to Nashville for a publishing summer camp. Tae having to figure out how to graduate high school early while Maddie had to turn down college in order to move to Nashville.

Listening to Maddie and Tae new album, not being a fan with Country music I would say this album wasn’t that bad. Their voices were very beautiful and the melodies were nice. I thought Maddie and Tae did a really good job on this album and to those who love Country music I would highly recommend their album. Now I wouldn’t listen to their music all the time but if it was playing on the radio then I wouldn’t mind sitting through the song. Overall check out Maddie and Tae new album.
