Anthony Miranda helps Colton Wrestling get back on top

Colton is known for their athletic students but over the past year we have been in what some might call a slump, but we will call it rebuilding tradition.

Anthony Miranda, also known as Peanut, is putting Colton on the map again making it to CIF State for wrestling. Peanut is a Colton wrestling star, who has been doing it since he was six years old, he’s been working hard and long to try to qualify for State once again. “Last year at the masters tournament after I failed to qualify for State I was really hard on myself and did want to quit. My parents inspire me the most and with their help I dedicated myself even more to the sport.”

One of his favorite memories was winning CIF individual title, being the only wrestler going to state this year for Colton his experience felt more memorable to him and he was able to learn that hard work does pay off. After graduation he plans to attend college and hopefully become a wrestling coach. Good luck to Peanut and the rest of the wrestling team! Great work this season!
